Organic, Vegan & Natural?

With so many options available and so many brands launching everyday, is no wonder us as clients are confused when it comes to understanding what is harmful and what is not. The ever growing beauty industry is booming and here is what you need to know before delving into the organic, vegan or natural wagon:

Organic beauty products:

When a product carries the organic label it means that the cosmetic formulation has organically farmed ingredients. These ingredients are grown without the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GM), herbicides, synthetic fertilisers and others. However, be aware that some brands might mix in ingredients and using only one of them organic but still labelling the whole product as organic. Read your labels!

Vegan beauty products:

For a product to be classified as vegan it cannot contain contain any animal extracts or animal by-products in the ingredients or the manufacturing process. Also it can't never be tested on animals. Although there is no legal regulation you can find out if a product is vegan by looking for the Vegan Society logo and cruelty-free logos.

Natural beauty products:

By using one natural product some brands have the nerve to describe it as natural! As it's almost impossible to do a product that is 100% natural, check the percentages on the label used by brands such as Balance me and Evolve Beauty. Also look for the soil association logo which will ensure the product doesn't have any GM ingredients and chemicals. It's also good to know that natural beauty products have a shorter shelf life.

Now that you are well informed, the main thing to remember is to read this post and keep an eye on ingredients to avoid! Nasty chemicals can be harmful to your skin and detrimental to your health when used often!
